More about Our Mission

The following framework, formally adopted by the Institute, expresses the Institute’s vision and mission:

  • To fulfil the requirements of the nationally agreed system for quality assurance of higher education.
  • To implement the highest standards of quality teaching, learning and research in theology, philosophy and bioethics.
  • To respect a variety of schools of theology and philosophy that are consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church and serve the truth of marriage and the family.
  • To ensure that the faculty of the Institute are active in research and scholarship that informs their teaching and supervision of student research.
  • To provide support and infrastructure for effective student learning.
  • To understand the role of faith in a secular culture.
  • To offer sacramental and liturgical life together with spiritualities of marriage and family life to the community of the Institute.
  • To encourage both faculty and students to explore opportunities to engage in dialogue in wider social contexts and with other faiths.
